To expand achievement, we need to raise motivation and equity in teaching. One of the best ways to achieve this is through social involvement. In social involvement tasks, students take responsibility and feel autonomy in making decisions and taking responsibility for tasks. Caring, and the feeling that "I and what I do matter", increase motivation and achievement. Setting up an online magazine or newspaper as part of a "social involvement" project achieves these goals. Teaching material that is relevant to learners and legitimizing students' technological knowledge and their expression of opinion – even when it is critical – together with involving students in planning, managing and assessing their learning while focusing responsibility for learning, as reflected in the "We Are the Media" curriculum, leads to equity in teaching, which in turn increases students' motivation and thereby their achievement.

Para ampliar el rendimiento hay que aumentar la motivación y la equidad en la enseñanza. Una de las mejores formas de lograrlo es el compromiso social. En las tareas de compromiso social, el alumno o la alumna asume responsabilidades y siente autonomía en la toma de decisiones y en la responsabilidad sobre las tareas. Implicarse y sentir que «yo y lo que hago importamos» aumenta la motivación y el rendimiento. Crear una revista o un periódico digital en el marco de un proyecto de «compromiso social» permite alcanzar estos objetivos. Enseñar contenidos relevantes para el alumnado y dar legitimidad a sus conocimientos tecnológicos y a la expresión de sus opiniones, incluso cuando son críticas, junto con la implicación del alumnado en la planificación, la gestión y la evaluación del aprendizaje, centrando en él la responsabilidad sobre lo que aprende, tal como se refleja en el programa «Somos los medios», conduce a la equidad en la enseñanza, que a su vez aumenta la motivación del alumnado y, con ella, su rendimiento.
